PhD University of Manchester, Department of Planning & Landscape – ‘The Changing Approach to Mitigation of Environmental Impact of Dams & Reservoirs in England & Wales’. Supervised by Professors Chris Wood and Michael Hebbert with support from Dr Carys Jones at the EIA Centre. (2003)

BA (Open) – graduated at the first overseas ceremony in Paris in 1996, although started in 1974. Subjects studied included Geology, Design, History of Technology, Arts and Pollution Control.

MSc Environmental Pollution Control – University of Manchester, Pollution Research Unit. Dissertation examined the Effects of Legislation on Water Quality in UK. (1986)

MA Literature, Landscape and Environment – Bath Spa University.  Dissertation researched Remembering London’s forgotten Rivers through Literature.(2015)
